GM IDMS Program Overview

GM launched the IDMS program in response to a request from its National Dealer Council to assist the GM dealer network with their Dealer Management Systems concerns. Launched at NADA 2006 as part of GM’s broader plan, the program is aimed at improving retail processes, dealer business systems and communications in line with GM’s desire to become the easiest manufacturer for dealers to do business with. This document is a brief overview of the program and how to participate.

What is GM IDMS? GM has negotiated a “volume purchase” of the XSELLERATOR™ software and services on behalf of the GM dealer network. The result is higher overall value, improved levels of service, and seamless integration with GM systems for GM dealers. The GM IDMS package features advanced functionality (with some optional features), all required services (including implementation and support), components for factory integration, standardized and stable fixed pricing, and simplified billing through the GM open account.

What are the Benefits of GM IDMS? IDMS offers advantageous pricing for a DMS package that includes a comprehensive list of DMS applications and improved levels of service. Quorum will work very closely with GM to help define and ensure that integration with GM’s forthcoming workbenches and applications is truly “seamless” for dealers.

How do I participate in GM IDMS? Although dealers will ultimately contract directly with General Motors for the IDMS system and services, GM has authorized Quorum to work directly with dealers to assess their needs, configure and quote the system and conduct the contracting on GM’s behalf. GM dealers choosing to participate will contract with GM but receive the software and services from Quorum. It is a month-to-month contract that includes protection of dealers’ data, and GM’s assurances of continued service.
